Stary Olsa is like the Metallica of Belarus’ medieval music scene. ‘Medieval Discotheque’ is a live recording of one of their concerts.
I found myself listening to this on the train, thinking I’m pretty sure I’m the only person listening to this on their morning commute.
I can’t really say I’ve enjoyed the album that much — it feels repetitive — but I can imagine it would be a different thing to see them in concert. Some of their albums are covers of famous heavy metal songs — this concert isn’t, although I imagine they could be covering popular Belarus songs and I wouldn’t have a clue.

Anyway, look at some of their Youtube videos — they are definitely passionate about what they do. And you’ll be able to tell that friend that knows it all about music about this band he’s never heard of before.
